2nd Level Master Course in “Protection against CBRNe events"

 

(Executive Course for CBRNe Advisors of Decision Makers)

 

Academic Year 2017/2018

 

Duration:
1 year (January 2018 –  February 2019)

 

ECTS: 60 ECTS

At the end of Course, attendees will obtain a degree  “2nd Level Master Course in Protection Against CBRNe Events (60 ECTS)”.

This Course aims at training professional “CBRNe Advisors of Decision Makers”, with specific skills in the following areas:

  • CBRNe threats and risk
  • Analysis of CBRNe agents
  • Effects of CBRNe agents
  • Diffusion and dispersion of CBRNe agents
  • Software, codes, tools, and DSS for CBRNe emergencies
  • Detection of CBRNe agents: instruments and techniques
  • CBRNe protection
  • CBRNe decontamination
  • International emergency systems in case of CBRNe events
  • Sanitary rescue and psychological approach to emergencies in case of CBRNe events
  • Critical infrastructure
  • Investigation and mitigation
  • Communication and information in case of CBRNe events
  • High-Level Experiences in two specialized European Facilities

The Course aims at providing participants with appropriate technical, cognitive and operational skills in order to educate and train key figures in the field of CBRNe risk. In order to participate in the Master Course and obtain the official title (which has legal value according to the Italian law), candidates must have a 300-ECTS point Master degree or equivalent. “Equivalence” of degrees such as Military, Police, Fire-fighter Academy degrees etc., will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the University’s competent bodies and the Master Course’s Steering Committee.

The Master Course is organised by the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the following Italian Public Entities, with which the University has signed formal agreements:

Curriculum
(each module will last one week per month, from Monday to Friday. Only for INPS Master Executive students, from Monday to Saturday).

The  2nd level Master Course in “Protection against CBRNe Events” will start on January 22nd, 2018.

TABLE TOP EXERCISE (TTX) FOR CRISES, EMERGENCIES, DISASTERS AND CBRNe EVENTS MANAGEMENT (December 2018) - Rome (Italy)

 

FINAL ACTIVITY - The final thesis will be finished before the 30th of January, the students togheter with the final thesis delivery will have a 2-3 days Table Top Excercise that together with the thesis and the marks of the exams will give a final evaluation for each of them.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee amounts to € 7,146.00 (including taxes and parchment), divided into  2 instalments:

• € 3,646 upon enrolment, to be paid by January 24th, 2018

• € 3,500 to be paid by July 02nd, 2018

Attendance and Qualification

Students are required to attend at least 80% of classes and practical activities. Students shall only graduate if they meet the following requirements:

  • Have attended at least 80% of all classes and practical activities;
  • Have passed the tests for each module
  • Have passed the final examination.

At the end of the Master Course, students who have attended at least 80% of all classes and practical activities, passed the tests and the final examination will be awarded the educational qualification University’s 2nd Level Master in "Protection against CBRNe events” (60 ECTS).

The final exam shall be taken  before the end of the last session of the second academic year following the last year of enrolment in the Course. After that period, it will no longer be possible to take the exam and obtain the degree.

The best  Master Theses will be selected for publication in scientific journals.

The new edition of the Master presents a significant novelty. The PhD students with a 2nd Level Master Course in Protection against CBRNe events can access directly the second year of the PhD course in the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The participation is subject to the passing of a selection.
