SICC2017: Paper Submission and photo albums

Dear Scientific Committee members, Dear Chairpersons, Dear Contributors, Dear Participants, Dear Colleagues and Dear Friends,
These days after the conference have been dense and full of work. We have taken few days to prepare everything to start with the paper submission for the conference proceedings and to publish all the photo albums of the conference (linked on the conference website homepage).
First of all, let me thank you all for the outstanding presentations and posters and work that you have done for the conference.
I want to start with Amb. Bonnie Jenkins, she has been perfect in moderate the plenary sessions and in her coordination duties. We are happy and honored of our collaboration, Bonnie.
It is not possible to forget the essential help and cooperation of the Italian Fire Corps that hosted us in a wonderful Venue such as Istituto Superiore Antincendi (ISA). We had the honor to have Prefect Bruno Frattasi, Ing. Gioacchino Giomi and Ing. Emilio Occhiuzzi the Heads of the Italian Fire Corps Department. We have been lucky to have an expert, a facilitator, a wise colleague, and friend like the Director Ing. Stefano Marsella. Dear Stefano your efforts were priceless, thank you.
I want to thank all the Chairpersons who have done a perfect work: all the sessions respected the timeline. Also, they committed to finding the best solution for every issue.
Our deepest appreciation goes to the SICC2017 contributors. Dear colleagues, dear friends, the success of a Scientific Conference is measured, from our point of view, by the quality of the oral and poster presentations. You are the real proof of the success of this wonderful conference. CBRNE is one of the few disciplines that can go under the umbrella of "Interdisciplinary Science" and this is proved by the collaboration and connections between all the excellent and esteemed expertise presented.
Also, I want to express my gratitude to the OPCW and its Director-General Amb. Ahmet Üzümcü, that chose (together with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) to attend our conference among many worldwide events celebrating the OPCW 20th Anniversary.
Moreover, I extend my special thanks to the colleagues of the Police State Department of Abu Dhabi, especially Dr. Amer Hosin, who encouraged the presence of such an important guest at SICC2017, H.E Saqr Nasser Ahmed Abdullah Al Raisi, Embassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Italy, San Marino and Macedonia for the United Arab Emirates.
I owe a special thank to Mr. Dieter Rothbacher. Dieter you pushed us to an international level and you believed in our potential since the beginning. We are proud to cooperate with you and HotZone Solutions.
A special thank goes also to Dr. Marco D'Arienzo who made the publication on Springer possible, and to Prof. Leonardo Palombi for hosting on his journal -Biomedicine and Prevention - a special issue of selected papers focused on medicine and prevention.
Last but not least, I want to thank you all for the valuable suggestions that you gave us during the conference and in the past days to make this regular event better and better. I hope that you will continue to send us further suggestions to improve our work towards SICC2019. We are preparing an anonymous online survey in order to evaluate your SICC2017 experience. We will send you a link in the next days and I hope that you can find 5 minutes to answer the few questions included.
I want to give the SICC2017 numbers:
- 360 participants in the 3 days
- 190 contributions
- 45 countries represented
All this was possible starting from the initiative of the International Master Courses in Protection against CBRNe events of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Directed by Prof. Palombi with the coordination of Dr. Pasquale Gaudio and the presidency of the Scientific Committee of Prof. Carlo Bellecci. During 10 years of hard work, Tor Vergata became a point of reference and liaison for CBRNE didactic and research thanks to the essential cooperation with the most important Military, Public, Private and Research Entities working in the sector, to every single student, teacher, and company that cooperated with us and suggested us how to improve our work.
A group of young and talented researchers from the newborn HESAR - Health Safety Environmental Research Association Rome, composed of members of the Quantum Electronics and Plasma Physics Research Group, under the Presidency of my friend and colleague Dr. Daniele Di Giovanni made all this possible, organizing the event together with the CBRNe Master Courses.
I am writing this e-mail also to remind you that the PAPER SUBMISSION IS OPEN TODAY TILL THE 15 SEPTEMBER 2017. You will find the instructions to write your paper herewith attached.
By the end of this week, you will receive a digital copy of the certificate of attendance.
I want to apologize if in the past days I did not answer to the dozens of e-mail that you have sent me due to several commitments, but I will soon answer to all of you.
