Module Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication

The Directive Board of the CBRNe Master Courses would like to inform you that the Module Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication of the 2nd Level Master Course has started today.

The aim of the module is to highlight and emphasize main aspects on communication and information management providing the student with basic concepts and procedures to be taken into consideration and applied during emergencies and CBRNe events.

The module started with an overview of the principles of communication in case of emergency with Mr. Ferruccio Di Paolo, expert in sociology and mass communication (from the Department of Firefighters, Public Rescue and Civil Defence at the Italian Ministry of Interior).. In the afternoon. thanks to Mr. Patrick Wengler, the students received a lecture and conducted a table top exercise in Command & Control from the commanders point of view during several chemical incidents. During the scenarios, they experienced command challenges and were pushed in taking decisive actions, such as the development of a working strategy, and creating IIMARCH and METHANE reports.

The Directive Board would like to thank Mr. Ferruccio Di Paolo and Mr. Patrick Wengler for their laudable contribution to the education and training of the CBRNe Master students.
