The lecture of the Gen. Ioannis Galatas

On Wednesday 21th January, the students of the 1st and the 2nd level International Master courses in “Protection against CBRNe Events” attended the high value lecture given by the Brigadier General (ret’d) Ioannis Galatas, MD, MA (Army MC).

The Gen. Galatas, retired military physician with more than 35 years of military industry experience, is specialized in Allergy and Clinical Immunology and for more than two decades he served as Head of the Department of Allergy & Clinical Immunology at Army General Hospital of Athens, Greece.
The Brigadier General showed to the students how to manage the emergency in case of CBRNe events as First Responders and as Advisors, focusing on and describing his own experience during the 2004 Athens’ Olympic Games, where he served as Commandant of the Olympic Hospital CBRN Response Unit ( the only hospital-based specialized unit deployed for the Games).
