Luca Antonelli, student of the 2nd Level Master course in Protection Against CBRNe Events, won in the part dedicated to the Inertial Confinement Fusion experiment at IFSA 2013

10.07.2013

Luca Antonelli,  PhD student at Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Study of Rome “Tor Vergata” and University of Bordeaux 1, student of the 2nd Level Master course in Protection Against CBRNe Events, presented the results of his experiment with a poster taking part to the young researcher competition at the Inertial Fusion Science and Application in September 2013 (IFSA 2013, Nara, Japan) and he won an award for his experiment about the Inertial Confinement Fusion.

This work started in 2009 with his master thesis and finished during his PhD in 2012. The laser-plasma interactions in a regime relevant for Shock Ignition have been investigated  with three experimental campaigns and the results have been presented.  He developed  the experiment at Prague Asterix Laser System.

For this award a special thanks goes to Dr. Maria Richetta, Luca Antonelli’s supervisor and to the research group of Quantum Electronics and Plasma Physics of the Department of  Industrial Engineering, University of Rome Tor Vergata.

The Directive Board of the Master Course congratulates Luca Antonelli for this important result.
