IInd Level Master Course - Module 4: Management of Chemical Releases Scenarios
05.04.2018
Dear colleagues,
It is a pleasure announce that last week has been concluded the module about the Management of Chemical Releases Scenarios. The aim of the module is to provide the students with a comprehensive overview of current and emerging chemical hazard, risks and threats within the context of international policies response measures and capabilities to face possible releases of chemical agents.
The module has been held by OPCW experts under the umbrella of the MoU between OPCW and University of Rome Tor Vergata in the aim of the CBRNe Master activities. It has been possible thanks to the intervention and cooperation of the Italian National Authority.
The students learn by the colleagues of OPCW technical knowledge about the chemical weapons, about CWC and OPCW and the main concepts of the “non-proliferation of chemical threats” and “managing chemical release scenarios”. The lectures have been partially oral and partially focused on class training activities.
One day of the module has been organized by the Italian National Authority in collaboration with the NBC School of Rieti at the Scuola Forestale Carabinieri of Rieti. In this occasion the Heli Protection Europe Srl, leader of drone use in Italy, has demonstrated the capability of the drone to flight a contaminated area transporting detectors for chemical contamination (provided by BMD spa) and radiological contamination (provided by CAEN SyS). It has been a unique opportunity for the class to verify with a real training the potentialities of drone in a CBRNe scenario.
The last day of the module INAC (https://www.inac.cloud/) has organized an interesting TTX on a chemical event in an industry, the student had the chance to close the module with an emergency management exercises.
Here some pictures is reported, next week we will publish interesting video presenting also the new lecturers entered officially in the didactic Board.
