Short Interview with Luca Rotondi

1) Who is Luca Rotondi and what he does in his life?
"I am a biologist with four University Master Courses and Postgraduate University Course. I work in the field of Web Communication of Roma Capitale. I am involved in social initiative as BLSD instructor to teach people life-saving maneuvers (unblocking the airways and BLSD) to the deaf and hearing impaired. I am also a competitive athlete, as coordinator of the Shooting Federation of the Deaf Sport Italy."
2) How important is Training in the life of each of us? In particular for deaf people, in your opinion how much is important (although it is difficult) University training and postgraduate training?
"Training is always a cultural investment for each of us, an instrument to amplify, to design, to plan, to implement and to improve the quality of life of the society.
In my particular case, the university and post-graduate education has allowed me to identify and / or improve the weaknesses in the integration and / or inclusion of the disability community.
For deaf people is always important the university training, however, the academic study requires a great will, determination and sacrifice. However I see an increase of deaf students in Italian universities, a significant step forward.
My dream? Deepen emergency management for the disabled with a PhD."
3) The Master course in “Protection against CBRNe events” have been a good experience for you? Would you recommend it and with that spirit you suggest to address it?
"The CBRN Master has made me a lot in terms of training, amplifying my professionalism. I continued slowly on the field of practice, starting from the theory of my Master's Thesis about emergency management for the disabled. I teach, through the seminars, the deaf to learn maneuvers unblocking the airways to improve the management staff saw their communication difficulties during the emergency that makes you lose a precious time for the life of the victim because of panic."
4) What happened after the Master? And what about your PhD thesis? A law proposal? Tell us about this.
"After the Master course at Tor Vergata University, I continued with a Course in Industrial Hygiene concluding with a dissertation on the need of the defibrillator in the workplace. Then, thanks to the determination of 'On.Sveva Belviso, Consigliere of Roma Capitale, along with other 9 people (we are a group of eleven people) have presented a law proposal to the Corte di Casssazione about the introduction of training about maneuvers unblocking airways, CPR and early defibrillation."
